Hiding Place and the Kite Runner

In the hiding place movie, the main characters are involved with the war and the events happening in their country throughout the movie. In the Kite Runner, the main character and his father flee the country they live in because of the war, so the book does not mention much about it during it. In the movie, the people are constantly running and hiding so they can avoid the enemies. There is a scene where a man must wear a dress to go out in public so he is not seen by the germans. In the book, they have gone to America so they can be free and not have to worry about being found. The movie takes place during the war while it is actually happening, while the book only gets into the war after it is over. In the book, the main character goes back to his country and witnesses the affects of the war and how it has changed his home.
